Friendship

Over the years I have had friendships begin, continue and end.

While it is often hard to accept the end of a friendship, unfortunately sometimes you just need to accept the inevitable and move through the pain and let it go.

A friendship recently ended for me and once I had moved through the initial sting of grief and then anger I decided to put myself first and just walk way. Now that I look back over the last few months the writing was definitely on the wall.

I always thought that as adults we would not have the same friendship dilemmas that we had in school, sadly that does not seem to be the case.

So as my 40th looms I am going to endeavour to look after myself more both emotionally, spiritually and physically. If that means accepting the end of friendships then so be it.

  1. Friendships are curious creatures. I have the same milestone coming up and those around me insist on celebrating it so I've planned a party. Compiling the guest list was interesting, though. Friends who I thought would be at the top of the list appear part way down while others haven't made the list at all - and I'm fine with that, if a little surprised.

    1. Yes, friendships are curious creatures. I am always surprised when they change like the ebb and flow of the tide. I also guess things change as we get older and priorities are different etc. :)
